The Participant Liaison Officer (PLO) is focused on providing a high level of support to NDIS participants using their values of compassion, respect, understanding and integrity. They have good listening skills to understand the Participants’ needs and to provide them with accurate and relevant information. The PLO develops a good working knowledge of the ALDS’s services, policies and procedures and to interpret and apply the relevant legislation.
They are well supported during training. The PLO is responsible for providing support, including workers, to maximise the living, employment, social and recreational skills of people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision-making and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs.
